Diane Piccioni, DDS is an orthodontist originally from Syracuse, NY. She attended Syracuse University where she received a B.S. in Biology. From there, she moved to Buffalo, NY and attended SUNY at Buffalo to study dentistry. The orthodontic specialty immediately captured her attention. Treating the entire dentition to create an ideal bite and smile quickly became her passion.
Dr. Piccioni began her orthodontic residency program at Montefiore Hospital in the Bronx as soon as she graduated from dental school in 2015. There, she worked closely with the oral surgery department on complex cases involving cleft palates, rare genetic syndromes, and orthognathic surgery. During residency, she attended lectures across the country on mini-implant mechanics, clear aligner therapy, airway considerations, as well as traditional bracket treatment. She is excited to see where the latest technological advances will bring the field of orthodontics.
Throughout college and dental school, Dr. Piccioni enjoyed volunteering with the Special Olympics. In college, she volunteered weekly with the Son-Rise Program, focused on improving interpersonal communication and comprehension in autistic children. She is enthusiastic about treating children and adults with special needs.
Dr. Piccioni completed her residency in the summer of 2018 and moved to Greenville to begin her career as an orthodontist. While a piece of her heart will always remain in upstate NY and New York City, Greenville has now become her home. She is dedicated to providing exceptional care and service here in the local community.
Dr. Piccioni is a member of the American Association of Orthodontics and the Southern Association of Orthodontics. She was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society in 2015. She was presented with the Resident’s Award after receiving her orthodontic certificate at Montefiore Medical Center, given to a single resident who exhibits excellence in academics and patient care.
